Redmond Police joined forces with the Washington State Patrol, Fife Police
Department, and Renton Police Department, offering their time and effort to the
Holiday Hospital Happenings program at the Children’s Hospital and Regional
Medical Center in Seattle.
For over 15 years, the Starlight Starbright Foundation has provided this annual
event to spread holiday cheer to patients and their families. Since most of the
children are not able to go shopping, the foundation brings the shopping to
them. Over 4000 gifts, courtesy of toy drives and donations throughout the
community, are displayed and selected by kids for their families and
themselves. The gifts are then wrapped by volunteers from local police
agencies. For children unable to leave their room, officers bring them gifts
to choose from.
