Directory of Services
This is a list of programs funded in part by the City of Redmond.  The City tries to support a full spectrum of services, from the basics of food and shelter to employment and counseling services.  However, there are hundreds of other services available, including some additional teen resources.  If you need assistance, dial 2-1-1 to reach Crisis Clinic's King County 2-1-1 Community Information Line where professional information and referral specialists can refer you to the agencies best able to meet your needs.  You are also welcome to call our office at 425-556-2416, or e-mail us at bbuckingham@redmond.gov. Assistance League of Eastside
Operation School Bell - Provides new clothing, school supplies and other items to at-risk, in-need children attending Redmond's elementary and junior high schools. See school counselor for more information.

AtWork!
High School and Adult Transition to Community Employment - Employment training and placement which enables individuals with severe and multiple disabilities to be employed and earn wages.

Catholic Community Services
Harrington House – A transitional housing program serving pregnant or parenting women with a child 18 months or younger.
Volunteer Chore Services - Volunteers assist with chores such as housework, yard work, laundry, and shopping to frail persons with low income.

Child Care Resources
Scholarships – Scholarships to enroll children one month to 12 years old in child care for families from Redmond having low and moderately low income, provided they are ineligible for other subsidies OR are on subsidy's waiting list.
Information and Referral - Provides training programs, technical assistance, and support services for licensed childcare providers in Redmond. Provides Redmond families with telephone information and referral service to licensed childcare providers in King County.

Children's Response Center
Services for Sexual Assault - Provides comprehensive services to victims of sexual assault and trauma. Provides ongoing counseling for sexual abuse victims, including treatment groups for children, ages 4-10, and concurrent parent support groups. Free legal and medical advocacy. Offers professional/community education and professional consultation.

Chinese Information Services Center
Cultural Navigator Program - Assists limited and non-English speaking individuals and families in accessing appropriate services and navigating through those service systems. This may include referral information, providing reference materials, completing application forms, follow up, and family support services. Interpretation and translation are provided on a limited basis.

Community Health Centers of King County
Medical care - Comprehensive medical care (treatment, exams, etc.).
Dental care – Services include emergency and routine dental care such as cleanings, fillings, and other services.
Natural medicine – Natural medicine services provided to low income and uninsured residents.

Consejo
Community and Legal Advocacy Program - Provides community and legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence, specifically non- or limited English-language proficient Latina women.

Crisis Clinic
2-1-1 Community Information Line - Get information on variety of services and programs offered in King County. Includes updated information about space available in women and family shelters. (Information is usually available by 9:30 a.m.) Call 2-1-1 or 206-461-3200 or 1-800-621-INFO.
24-Hour Crisis Line - Trained volunteers respond to calls from people in crisis and emotional distress. Provides linkage to mental health and other social services. Call 206-461-3222 or 1-866-4CRISIS.
Teen Link Help Line - Trained teen volunteers respond to calls from youth needing to talk about any issue concerning them. Confidential and anonymous. Call 206-461-4922 or 1-866-TEENLINK.

Eastside Baby Corner
Supplies for low income children - Provides diapers and formula to Eastside food banks and cribs and car seats to needy infants in East King County. Clients obtain these goods via other helping agencies like Hopelink or Friends of Youth, not directly from Eastside Baby Corner.

Eastside Domestic Violence Program
Community Advocacy - Provides community advocacy, shelter, counseling, and crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and their families.
Shelter/Housing - Safe, confidential housing units for domestic violence victims and their children. 24-Hour crisis line: 425-746-1940

Eastside Interfaith Social Concerns Council
Congregations for the Homeless - A cooperative of 12 Eastside congregations providing shelter, food, and employment related services to homeless men. Each month a different congregation hosts the program and donates their facility, food, and volunteers. Intake line: 425-749-8369

Eastside Legal Assistance Program
Eastside Legal Assistance Program - Provides 30-minute legal advice sessions from an attorney, either in person or over the phone, relating to divorce, domestic violence, child support, landlord/tenant, consumer, public entitlements, wills, and probate. Does not assist with criminal cases. Provides referrals for representation for civil cases.

Elder and Adult Day Services
Comprehensive Adult Day Health Service Program - Provides adult day health services for frail elders and adults with disabilities, who need daytime restorative or rehabilitative services for independent living. Young adult program provides social and day health services for individuals, ages 18-45. Additional services include support groups and information and referral
 
Friends of Youth
Runaway and Homeless Youth - Provides shelter, transitional housing and counseling for homeless and runaway youth, and young adults, including pregnant teens. Recruits foster parents for Redmond.
Healthy Start - Provides in-home support program for new first-time parents, age 21 and younger, in collaboration with many youth service providers.
Neighborhood Schoolhouse - Community Learning & Family Support Center in Redmond Elementary School serves Redmond families with before/after school affordable programs.

Hopelink
Housing Support - Provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and support of rent, as well as a variety of services aimed at helping individuals increase their sense of independence.
Eastside Literacy Program - Trained volunteers provide basic literacy tutoring and English as a second language instruction at multi-levels of proficiencies. Provides GED preparation and family literacy programs.
Family Development - Comprehensive case management and other tailored support services to help low income, at risk, Redmond residents become self-sufficient.

Jewish Family Services
Refugee and Immigrant Services - Provides a range of programs offering employment assistance and other social services for refugees, immigrants, and other low-income individuals.

Kindering Center
Early Childhood Consultation Program - Offers a variety of services to children who are developmentally disabled, abused, or neglected, and to their families. Provides parenting classes and support groups for families at risk of abuse.

King County Sexual Assault Resource Center
Comprehensive Sexual Assault Services - Provides 24-hour phone crisis intervention, referrals for medical and legal questions, and emotional support for victims of sexual assault.

Lake Washington Technical College
Scholarships - Provides scholarships for technical training programs for lower income students from Redmond. Programs include job skills, adult basic education, continuing education, computer skills training, and English as a Second Language classes.

NAMI Eastside
Education, Support and Advocacy - Provides support, education and advocacy programs for families of persons with serious mental illness and individuals experiencing mental illness.
NW Mentoring and Educational Center Project Smart Turn - Assists at-risk youth by providing assessments, referrals, and case management.

Senior Services
Meals on Wheels - Home-delivered meals and liquid nutritional supplements for homebound older adults, ages 60 and older and people with disabilities.
Volunteer Transportation - Volunteer drivers provide rides to medical appointments and other essential services for clients, ages 60 and over, who are unable to use other forms of transportation.

Sound Mental Health
At Risk Youth - Offers intensive, in-home or community-based, wrap around services for "at risk" youth and families not covered by insurance.
Low-Income Counseling - Provides affordable counseling and psychiatric services using volunteers/interns as well as psychiatric evaluations and medication management to low-income clients.

Youth Eastside Services
Family Net - Offers at-risk school children and their families counseling, crisis intervention, referrals, linkages to existing programs, and other assorted services. Provided at a variety of locations in schools.
Early Intervention - Provides comprehensive counseling and social services for Eastside youth and their families at a variety of locations. A counselor from YES is available during regular drop-in hours to talk about issues, school problems, substance abuse, teen dating, violence, anger management, etc.
 
YWCA
Family Village - Provides job skills training, job search assistance, professional clothing for adults, transitional and permanent housing for families, and childcare for low-income and homeless children.
Women’s Drop-in Center - A safe, welcoming daytime drop-in center for homeless women. Provides meals and snacks, showers, laundry, phone and computers, and services to help women stabilize and work toward self-sufficiency. Located at the Bellevue First Congregational Church community room.
