DirectRequest is an automated system that provides you with access to the most commonly requested Development Services Center services, 24-hour a day, 7-day a week. Using a touch-tone phone you can:

  • Schedule an inspection
  • Leave and receive voicemail messages regarding an inspection
  • Cancel a scheduled inspection
  • Retrieve Plan Review status information by voice and by fax
  • Get the results of an inspection
  • Receive a history report of inspection activity for a permit by fax
  • Obtain zoning information on a parcel by phone and by fax
  • Before Calling You Will Need:

  • A touch-tone telephone
  • A site-specific permit number *
  • An inspection code (for inspections/plans)
  • A parcel or address (for zoning)

    Choose From the Following Options:

  • Press 1 Schedule an Inspection
  • Press 2 Cancel an Inspection
  • Press 3 Obtain Inspection Results
  • Press 4 Check Plan Review Status
  • Press 5 Fax Inspection History
  • Press 6 Check Zoning Status
  • Press 0 Transfer to Staff
  • Press # Disconnect and Hang Up
  • Press * Addition Information  
  • The DirectRequest system will prompt you through the steps below during your call. You may perform multiple transactions during each call. At the end of the call you will be issued a confirmation number. We recommend that you keep a record of your confirmation numbers and associated transactions in case they are needed for future reference.

    Schedule an inspection:
    1. Enter the permit type.
    2. Enter the permit number.
    3. Enter the inspection code from the list on the outside of this brochure.
    4. Enter the inspection date.

    After you have scheduled the inspection, you will have the option to:

  • Leave a message for the inspector.
  • Request another inspection for the same permit.
  • Request another inspection for a different permit.
  • Get a confirmation number and hang up.
  • Cancel an inspection:
    1. Enter the permit type.
    2. Enter the permit number.
    3. Enter the inspection code from the list on the outside of this brochure.

    After you have cancelled the inspection, you will have the option to:

  • Cancel another inspection for the same permit.
  • Cancel another inspection for a different permit.
  • Get a confirmation number and hang up.
  • Return to the main menu.
  • Obtain inspection results

    2. Enter the permit number.
    3. Enter the inspection code from the list on the outside of this brochure.

    After you have cancelled the inspection, you will have the option to:

  • Listen to more results, same permit.
  • Listen to more results, different permit.
  • Get a confirmation number and hang up.
  • Return to the main menu.
  • Check Plan Review Status:
    1. Enter the permit type.
    2. Enter the permit number.

    After you have listened to the plan review status, you will have the option to:

  • End the call and hang up.
  • Receive plan status via fax.
  • Hear the status of another plan.
  • Return to the main menu.
  • Fax Permit Inspection History:
    1. Enter the permit type.
    2. Enter the permit number.
    3. Enter your fax number.

    After your request has been scheduled, you will have the option to:

  • End the call and hang up.
  • Request a faxed history of another permit.
  • Check Zoning Status
    1. Enter the site parcel number or address.

    After you have listened to the zoning information, you will have the option to:

  • End the call and hang up.
  • Repeat the zoning information you just heard.
  • Hear zoning information on another site.
  • Request a fax of the zoning information you just heard.
  • Return to the main menu.
  • Transfer to Staff and Additional Information

    You can press "0" at any time to transfer to a live staff member. You can also press * to hear an explanation of your current options.
