Each year, the City of Redmond carries out an update to the
Comprehensive Plan as provided for by State law.
Requesting a Comprehensive Plan Amendment
State law allows the City to consider one package of Plan amendments
annually. The application deadline for the 2009-10 Comprehensive
Plan Amendment package was June 1, 2009. A deadline for the 2010-11 package will be announced in spring 2010, but may be submitted any time in advance of the 2010 deadline. Anyone may request an amendment
to the Comprehensive Plan or the Community Development
Guide. For site-specific requests, the affected property owners must
agree to the request. Examples of previous requests include proposals
to change the type or density of uses allowed on a property.
How To Apply: Complete the
application packet for
Comprehensive Plan amendments or
Development Guide amendments, or obtain the packets by calling the
Long Range Planning Division at 425-556-2421. There is no
fee for applying for a Plan amendment. Applicants are strongly
encouraged to meet with City planning staff prior to submitting an
application. Additional general information is available from the City's
notice letter.
