The Redmond Senior Center (RSC) offers a wide variety of recreational
opportunities. From fitness to crafts, we have something to suit most everyone.
The RSC has many amenities that are available to use whenever the center
is open. Rooms for card games, billiards and crafts are just a few of the
pleasant spaces the RSC offers.
Lead by volunteers, these groups bring together like-minded people to
pursue a wide variety of activities. Most groups meet weekly, however, some
are monthly. There is no fee to participate in interest groups.
Lead by paid instructors, classes and workshops are offered to provide
opportunities for growth and new learning. Sessions and fees vary from class to
class; complete listings are found in the RSC News, our quarterly
newsletter.
The RSC offers health and wellness services that assist older adults in living
active, full lives. Many of the programs are offered in conjunction with area health care providers, such as Evergreen Healthcare, Overlake
Hospital, and Visiting Nurse Services.
Various area agencies partner with the RSC to offer older adults assistance with
life concerns. From legal assistance to help preparing your taxes, the RSC offers many services to help seniors cope.
In partnership with Senior Services of King County, the
RSC serves nutritious meals Monday through Friday, and participates in the
Meals on Wheels program.
The RSC bus offers transportation services, such as grocery shopping
and day trips. The RSC also maintains current
information on other transportation systems such as METRO, ACCESS, and Sound Transit.
Volunteers are what make the RSC so special. Many of our daily operations are
performed by volunteers -- from answering phones, taking class registrations, to
serving customers and teaching classes. Call 425-556-2314 to get involved!
Senior Advisory Committee meets the third Thursday of each month. The Committee
has eleven members who serve two-year terms. All Senior Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public.
We highly encourage all participants to subscribe to
our quarterly newsletter, the RSC News, as it is full of all the latest
information about our classes, workshops, activities and trips. A one-year
subscription
is only $10.
If you are new to the RSC, your first issue will be complimentary. Give us
a call, 425-556-2314, and we can sign you up over the phone; Visa or Mastercard
accepted.
Open: Monday - Friday, 10 am - 2 pm.
The gallery is run
and operated by seniors and is a separate entity inside the RSC. Seasonal
crafts, as well as new products, are continually being added. If you are interested in displaying your items
for sale, contact the Crafters' Gallery at 425-556-2374 for more information.
The RSC is the perfect place for larger special events such as wedding
receptions, birthday and anniversary celebrations, and meetings.
Classrooms are also available for small group gatherings. The facility
is available for rental after 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday and all day Saturday
and Sunday. A rental brochure/Application for Use is available upon
