While most of you have probably noticed the trees and flowers
in bloom all around the city we have also been busy at
Farrel-McWhirter with new baby animals. It's a great time to
visit during your lunch break or bring the family on a weekend.

Pigs: Our first litter of baby piglets
was born to our loaner sow, Pinkie. Her little piggies
were born Saturday, March 27,
2010. They are all doing well and bring a
smile to everyone that visits. These little
piglets will be here until they are 5-weeks
old and then will return to their owner
where our other loaner sow, Dottie. is
currently getting bred and will be due to
farrow mid to late June |

Calf: We have a new jersey heifer
(female) calf named Daisy Mae. She
was born March 15, 2010. She is
currently on a bottle and will
hopefully become our future milking
cow when she grows up.

Baby goats: We have weaned the 2
kids who were on a bottle a week
ago. They are really cute and fun.
We have 3 more pregnant does that
will start kidding in May thru July.
Be sure to visit frequently!

Chicks: A community
preschool/daycare hatched some fancy
chicks (white and black silkies) for
us in late March. They will grow
into beautiful chickens with silkie
feathers.
