In order to successfully complete an
electronic application, you must have at
a minimum Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 and Internet Explorer 5.5 or Netscape 6.2. You
may download a free copy of
Acrobat Reader.
Check the technical FAQs for additional information.
Be sure to indicate the position for which you are applying by selecting the
appropriate position title from the drop down menu on the first page of the
application. Please note, Public Safety positions are not eligible for
electronic submittal at this time.
Please allow enough time to complete the online application. If you have all
of your information on-hand, it should take you approximately one hour. It is a
good idea to print out both the job announcement and the application packet to
ensure you have all the information you need.
Once you have completed the application packet, you must print the application packet prior to
submitting it if you want a copy for your records.
After you have reviewed and printed the application packet, click the submit
button to complete the process.
Upon successful receipt of your application, you will receive a confirmation
with an Applicant ID number, an email address and further instructions on how to submit a cover letter and resume
should you wish to do so. Please make a note of your ID number.
To submit a cover letter and resume electronically:
Using an email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora
- Click on the email address provided to open a pre-formatted email.
- Attach your cover letter and/or resume to the email.
- Do not change the "To:" or "Subject" line of the pre-formatted email.
- Press the send button to complete the submission of your cover letter and/or resume.
Using a Web-based email service like MSN Hotmail or Yahoo
- Sign on to your account and open a new email.
- Copy the email address supplied into the “TO:” line.
- Include in the subject line the words “Applicant ID” followed by the number you were
given upon submission of your application.
- Attach your cover letter and/or resume to the email and send it.
