HOURS: 35 - 40 hours per week; hours may vary
depending on weather conditions and beach attendance.
DURATION: Season is June 16 – September 6, 2010. There
will be a mandatory
in-service training prior to the season.

Duties:
Must enjoy working with people. Works in a team setting under the
supervision of the Beach Front Manager to assist in the management of the
aquatics program; enforce park ordinances and swimming rules; supervise public
activities and ensure patron safety; help supervise lifeguards; conduct basic
beach front maintenance duties; maintain accurate records; and other duties as
assigned. Minimum of 19 years of age (by June 1, 2010) and lifeguarding
experience at a pool or beach park is required. Open water experience and
supervisory experience in an aquatics program is desirable.
Licenses/Other Requirements:
Current certification in: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid and
American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. The Northwest Lifeguard
Test or equivalent is desirable. Applicants will be required to attend skills
and conditioning training prior to season. Ability to work complete lifeguard
season and attend all testing and training sessions as scheduled. Must have a
valid Washington driver's license by date of hire and a driving record that
meets City standards.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor recreational environment subject to noise, distractions, seasonal heat,
adverse weather conditions and danger associated with aquatics setting.
