SALARY:  $11.91 - $20.73/hour

LOCATION:
  Old Fire House Teen Center is located at 16510 N.E. 79th Street
HOURS:
  Supplemental, part-time position to work up to 16 hours per week.  Position is limited to 1040 hours per year.  Work hours vary and include evenings and weekends.  Flexibility to work special events is required.

Duties:
Under the direction of the Teen Program Director, this position coordinates the Media Lab program at the Old Fire House Teen Center, to include the following duties: design and implement a free and fee-based media lab curriculum; recruit appropriate contractors to lead Media Lab workshops; develop and promote programs, classes and special events; coordinate studio rentals, and program scheduling; recruit and training audio engineers for program and studio rental support; manage Media Lab interns and volunteers; work closely with teen Center and other Recreation division staff to integrate Media Lab activities with other Old Fire House/community programming; ensure media lab equipment is in proper working order; develop local music and media partnerships/sponsorships; create and facilitate a Community Media Lab advisory group; and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of: Eastside and regional teen music scene; general music programming;  music media lab/sound operations and program development; staff and vendor management; customer service and public relations with parents, teens, musicians, City staff, business, and community groups.  Understanding of sound business practices with preference in municipal setting.
Ability to: organize, develop, coordinate, and promote community teen music and media programs; conceptualize, develop, and implement educational programs; develop relationships with schools, businesses, and community organizations to provide teen music programming/resources; manage time; enforce Teen Center policies and procedures; and work with diverse teen populations in high paced and stressful situations.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma and at least one (1) year recording industry experience required.  Working with teens in an educational, recreational, or music setting highly preferred.  Video editing and production background preferred.

Licenses/Other Requirements:
Valid Washington State Driver’s License by date of hire and a driving record that meets City standards.  Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.  Must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and able to lift 30 pounds.

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in a Teen Center environment, with frequent interruptions and exposure to loud, live music.
