If additional programs are needed, the Farm Coordinator will work with the instructor to determine if this is possible. This depends on availability of instructor/volunteers and the use or over-use of the ponies. Classes will not be added unless the instructor confirms that they can teach the program.

The instructor will teach the following classes:

Beginning Pony Workshops
This class is designed for the first time rider. Two students per pony will learn: safety around ponies, basic grooming and riding techniques. This class is a requirement for 4 year olds before they can attend a Just Horsin' Around I class.

Parent/Child Pony Workshops
This class is designed for the first time rider 4+ years and parent. Two parent/child groups are assigned to a pony. Safety, grooming and riding techniques are introduced.

Just Horsin' Around I (English and Wstern)
The Just Horsin' Around I class is on safety and beginning riding techniques. The children will learn to groom, saddle, bridle, and hoof pick. They are led each class except the last session, when they ride on their own (with spotters) in our arena.

Just Horsin' Around II & III (English and Wstern)
The Just Horsin' Around II expands the participant's knowledge of horsemanship. Emphasis is put on reining, leg control, and use of aides and horse behavior. Activities vary based on abilities of students. They could include: led trail ride, additional riding time, and games.

Junior Horse Masters/ Beginning and Intermediate (Either English or Western)

Volunteer Program
