SALARY: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour to start DOE
DATE CLOSED: Open until filled.
HOURS & DURATION: Up to 20 hours per
week. This is a supplemental, non-benefited position limited to 1040 hours per
calendar year. Scheduled shifts may include various day and/or evening shifts,
Monday through Saturday to cover Community Center operations. Sunday shifts may
be available depending upon rental demands.

Duties:
Provides on-site assistance in the operation of the Old Redmond Schoolhouse
Community Center. Under the direction of the Facility Manager, this position
will provide administrative and clerical support for the Community Center and
Parks and Recreation staff, which may include program registration, facility
rentals, and taking payments for drop-in programs. Acts as a key public
relations and customer service contact for the City and Parks and Recreation
department. Provides visitors and facility users with facility usage/program
information and ensures that all users follow set-up, clean-up, and use
guidelines. Enforces Department and City policies, ensures security of the
facility with proper opening and closing of the interior and grounds as
directed. Assists user groups or staff as needed with equipment or facility
set-up for classes, activities, rentals, and special events. May assist with or
fill in for gym supervision staff in case of staff illness or emergency.
Performs basic janitorial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, emptying
garbage cans, and restroom cleaning on a daily basis. May record daily facility
attendance and fill out other required reports. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of: general office practices and
procedures, customer service experience in an active, people-oriented setting
preferred; registration or cashiering experience helpful but not required;
facility or community center operations experience preferred.
Skill in: operation of personal computer, and Microsoft office applications.
Ability to: relate well to staff and members of the public; follow
directions and procedures; perform basic janitorial and facility set-up
services; work independently; effectively resolve conflicts; enforce City and
department policies & procedures; learn park’s computer databases; and
communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Education & Experience: High school
diploma or equivalent required, with one year paid experience in a recreation,
public education, or other customer service position.
Licenses/Other Requirements: Must be
18 years of age by date of hire and obtain First Aid/CPR certification within
two months of hire. Must pass a criminal history check, possess a valid
Washington State Driver’s License by date of hire and have a driving record that
meets city standards.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed mainly in an office/community center
environment.
