Who are the RFD explorers?
An energetic group of young adults age 14-21 who share a common interest in the fire service.

How often do the RFD explorers meet?
During the year, the post meets two to three times per month, usually at headquarters Station 11.

What is an explorer's commitment?
Each member commits to at least one year of meetings, public events and a minimum number of ride-alongs.

What is a ride-along?
An 8-to-24-hour shift at one of six RFD stations. Located within the city and Fire District 34. The explorer participates in all station duties, including responding to emergency incidents with the crew.
