What are the Water and Wastewater Rate Drivers for Redmond Ridge?

Local Costs
These costs are managed by the City to provide for current operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater infrastructure.  New facilities must be provided as additional demands are made on these systems.  Also included in these costs are consideration for inflation along with future system replacements and upgrades.

Regional Costs
WASTEWATER TREATMENT - King County Metro charges Redmond to treat the wastewater generated from our customers.  Their wastewater treatment rates are passed directly to our customers.  On January 1, 2007, King County increased the monthly rate it charges local sewer agencies for wastewater treatment.  The monthly charge increased from $25.60 to $27.95 for single-family residences.  The charge for multi-family, commercial, and industrial customers increased from $25.60 to $27.95 for each 750 cubic feet of water used.

PURCHASED WATER - 100% of the water consumed by Redmond Ridge customers is purchased from Cascade Water Alliance.

These two regional costs make up a significant portion of our customers’ water and wastewater charges.
