Redmond has a strong Mayor-Council form of government in which the
Mayor is chief administrative officer and the City Council sets all
official City policy. Seven Councilmembers are elected by
popular vote for staggered four-year terms and all represent the
community at large.

Kim began her service on the City Council in January, 2006
and is serving her second term. She is a licensed attorney
and works as a land use hearing examiner for cities and
counties in the Puget Sound region. She previously
served as the Vice Chair of the Redmond Planning
Commission. Kim holds a BA in Political Science from the
University of Michigan and a JD Cum Laude from Detroit
College of Law/Michigan State University. Kim has lived in
Redmond since 2000, after residing in Arizona, California
and Michigan. She has two children and lives in the River
Trail neighborhood in downtown Redmond.

David moved from Southern Oregon to Redmond to work for
Microsoft in 1991 and works as a Software Test Engineer. He
graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business Management. His hobbies are
riding motorcycles, cooking and playing in Redmond's
recreational softball league. He lives with his wife
Danielle and pets in the Overlake neighborhood of Redmond.

President, City Council
Richard Cole, now in his 6th term on the Council, was
first elected in 1988. Prior to that, he served on the Planning Commission and was the
chair. Originally from Logan, Utah, Richard has resided in Redmond for over 30 years,
currently in the downtown neighborhood. Richard is a
Certified Public Accountant. Retired from Boeing, he
is active in several non-profit organizations in addition to
the City Council. |

Hank Margeson, a 14-year resident of Education Hill, works
for Safeco Insurance Company as an Area Underwriting
Manager. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration
from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelors Degree in
Criminal Justice from Washington State University. He
previously served on the Parks and Trails Commission and was
the Vice-Chairperson for the Education Hill Citizens
Advisory Committee. Active in local sports, he's coached
youth soccer, baseball and basketball over the years and
currently umpires local high school baseball games. He and
his wife Patti have two children. He is currently serving
his first elected term.

Hank Myers has lived in the Viewpoint area
since 1976 when he went to work at Alaska Airlines as a
regulatory affairs specialist. Since 1980, he has been a
consultant in transportation economics including aviation
and surface issues. Hank has served on advisory boards for
Metro Transit and the Bellevue School District, and has also
volunteered as a youth coach. He and his wife Christine have
two children. He is currently serving his first term. |

John Stilin, an 18-year resident of Education Hill, grew up
in Milwaukee, WI, and lived in several major U.S. cities
before settling in Redmond to work for Microsoft.He has served as Chair of the Redmond Arts
Commission, Co-Chair of the Viewpoint Citizen Advisory
Committee and participated in the Budgeting by Priorities
process in 2008.
Since leaving Microsoft in 2000, he has volunteered at
Hopelink, Rockwell Elementary, and other local
organizations.
John and his wife Sherry have raised three sons in Redmond.

Member of the Planning & Public Works Committee
Pat was appointed to the City Council in November 2003
and elected to the position in November 2005. Prior to his
appointment, Pat first served on the City Council from 1981 to
1989 and on the Redmond Planning Commission from 1979 to 1980. Pat and his family have lived on Education Hill since 1977. He
was raised in Eastern Washington, and moved in 1965 to attend
the University of Washington. |
