Arts Commission
The Arts Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Old
Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center at 7:00 p.m. and three times per year meets
in the Council Chambers for televised meetings. It sponsors and promotes visual
arts, performing arts, literary arts, arts education, and grant programs,
provides services such as website and community arts information as well as
develops recommendations for the Mayor and City Council on art related issues.
In addition to nine city residents appointed to three-year terms, the Arts
Commission offers an opportunity for youth involvement as a Youth
Advocate. Residents and non-residents alike are invited to volunteer on

Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30
p.m. The Commission considers recruitment and promotional procedures in
the Police and Fire Departments and pertinent appeals. Contact the Human
Resources Department at 425-556-2120 for meeting location.
Code Rewrite
Commission
As part of the
Redmond Community Development Guide (RCDG) Rewrite project, the City has
established a temporary
Code Rewrite
Commission (CRC). The CRC will review and make recommendations to the City
Council on proposed zoning code updates. Through September and October 2009, the
CRC will meet on Monday evenings twice per month at 6:00 p.m. Beginning in
November 2009, regular meetings of the CRC will take place every Monday of each
month at 6:00 p.m.
Design Review Board
The Design Review Board meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at
7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. It examines building and site
applications for the quality of their design elements and compatibility with the

Redmond Disability Board
The Disability Board meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 4:15
p.m. The Board reviews disability claims brought forward by covered
employees in the Police and Fire Departments and makes recommendations
concerning their resolution. Contact the Human Resources Department at
425-556-2120 for meeting location.
Human Services Commission
The Human Services Commission meets on the second Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the
Council Conference Room. This commission's role is to advise the Mayor and
Council on general issues related to human services, as well as to make specific
funding recommendations as part of the City's budget process every two years. Innovative Housing Review Panel
The Innovative Housing Review Panel meets as needed to review projects submitted
under Redmond's Innovative Housing Demonstration Program. The Panel evaluates
proposals according to the goals of the Innovative Housing Ordinance, which
include increasing variety of housing choices, demonstrating superb design
compatible with surrounding single-family neighborhoods, improving housing
affordability options, and contributing to a sense of community. Meetings are
generally held at 7pm at City Hall.
Landmarks and Heritage Commission
The Landmarks and Heritage Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays when there
is an item of business. The purpose of the Landmarks Commission is to review
historic landmark designations for historic properties and any applications for
alteration or demolition to existing historic landmark properties. Contact

Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board meets on the first Wednesday evening of each month, at the
Library. Its purpose is to consider library policy, promote interest in
the library and to inform Redmond citizens of library needs. City of Redmond
residency is required.
Parks and Trails Commission
The Parks and Trails Commission meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Please see the
current commission agenda to confirm the meeting location. The Commission is advisory to the
Mayor and City Council regarding parks acquisition, development, and
departmental programs. It also makes recommendations to promote, protect, and
assist in development of enjoyable, safe, convenient trail opportunities for
pedestrians, bicyclists, kayakers, and equestrians throughout the City of Redmond planning
area. In addition to nine adult members, the Parks and Trails Commission offers an
opportunity for youth involvement as a Youth
Advocate.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission meets on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday at 7:00
p.m. in the City Council Chambers. It monitors growth and development
issues and evaluates and recommends revisions to land use policies and
regulations. City of Redmond residency is required.
Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory
Committee
"RYPAC" is the voice for youth which is made up of youth and adults who help
shape programs for our community. Meetings will occur regularly two evenings a
month from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. If you are interested in becoming a part of this
