Fire Code Operational Permit Program
Fire Code Operational Permit Program (Non-Construction related)
The City of Redmond Fire Department (RFD) has adopted the International Fire Code (IFC) as specified in the Redmond Municipal Code (RMC) 15.06-Fire Code. The RFD permit program will be based on Section 105 of the IFC. An IFC permit constitutes permission to maintain, store, use or handle materials, or conduct processes which produce conditions hazardous to life or property. A permit also constitutes permission to install equipment used in connection with such activities. This permission shall not be construed as authority to violate, cancel, or set aside any of the provisions of this code. A permit shall not take the place of any license required by law or other governmental agency.
Operations Inspection Program
The Redmond Fire Prevention Division administers the Operations Division inspection program for the Redmond Fire Department. Inspections are performed at all occupancies not requiring International Fire Code (IFC) Permits within the Redmond city limits except single family residences. Operations inspections are typically completed by fire suppression crews.
Code Enforcement and Special Inspections
Special Inspections are intended to identify code violations or reveal unsafe situations which may present themselves during special events, peak occupancy times, or in response to a citizen complaint.
