Redmond, WA –  The City of Redmond and Forterra, formerly the Cascade Land Conservancy, are partnering to sponsor a work party on Saturday, June 30th from 9 am to 12 noon at Viewpoint Park, 18440 NE 24th Street, Redmond. All those who care about Redmond’s urban forests can help by volunteering to remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs to re-establish a healthy forest and mitigate carbon in the atmosphere.

No experience is necessary and gloves, tools and other materials are available. It is important to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. All ages are welcome, although all volunteers under 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or bring a signed waiver (available at www.greenredmond.org, on the Volunteer Schedule page).

This event is part of the Last Saturday of the Month program from Green Redmond. The remaining events will take place on the following days and parks:

• July 28 – Idylwood Beach Park, 3650 West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE
• August 25 – Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 Redmond Road
• September 29 – Redmond Watershed Preserve, 21760 Novelty Hill Rd
• October 27 – Viewpoint Park, 18440 NE 24th Street

All volunteers should look for Green Redmond Partnership event signs to sign-in and receive their tools and gloves.
