Redmond, WA –
The City of Redmond’s NE 90thth Street Bridge will be closed up to 7 hours a day beginning Monday, May 21 through Thursday May 31th to replace the structure’s bearing pads. The closures are expected to take place each day between 9am and 3pm in both directions including weekends. The City is contracting with King County’s Bridge Maintenance Division to replace 22 bearing pads that cushion and connect the bridge deck to its support abutments.
This work requires the lifting of the bridge deck approximately 1 inch to remove and replace the pads. Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians will be required to use alternate routes. These routes will be posted and include Redmond Way, NE 85th Street and NE 124th Street. Variable Message Boards (VMS) will also be posted in the corridor.
The project is part of the normal maintenance cycle and has a budget of approximately $100,000.
