Redmond last completed a major update to its Comprehensive Plan in 2004. In response to City policies and Growth Management Act requirements for periodic plan review, it is time to review the Comprehensive Plan and make updates as needed to enable Redmond to thrive according to the community's vision through 2030.
The City Council established the scope of this plan update on April 20, 2010. The scope focuses on:
- Extending the planning horizon year to 2030
- Complying with regional and state requirements; and
- Changes that implement Council policy direction and policy recommendations from current and previous studies.
Process and Timeline
The Planning Commission began reviewing amendments to Plan amendments in August 2010 and will continue to do so through the first half of 2011. Then, the City Council will review the Planning Commission's recommendation.
City Council adoption of updates to the Comprehensive Plan is expected by December 2011.
