A one-week diaper drive culminating in a service day for youth
The Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee (RYPAC) presents No Child Wet Behind, an opportunity for the community to get involved and support local families in need of diapers taking place April 30 to May 1. All diapers will be donated to Northwest Harvest.
The week will culminate in a RYPAC sponsored day for youth to gather together, celebrate service and “makeover” the outside of a Redmond foster home owned by Friends of Youth.
No Child Wet Behind The diaper drive will be led and planned by RYPAC youth. There are several opportunities for everyone in the community to donate:
- Sat April 30 at QFC by Bella Bottega from 10 to 2pm
- Sun May 1 at Whole Foods from 12 to 4pm
At the above events, unopened diapers and monetary donations to purchase diapers will be collected.
- Mon May 2 to Fri May 6 Local schools will collect money
- Week of May 2 Donation jars will be at the Redmond Senior Center and local maternity stores
Spring Makeover To celebrate this makeover week, RYPAC partnered with Friends of Youth to spruce up the yard of a local foster home on Saturday May 7. The youth will do much needed yard work, paint flower pots for other foster families and more. To conclude the hard day’s work, there will be fun activities and food. This event is open to all youth in the community but an RSVP to
rypac@redmond.gov is required.
The event is sponsored by RYPAC, with support from Northwest Harvest and Friends of Youth. For more information or to RSVP, contact Michele Loewy at 425-556-2329 or
