We have adopted 2014 National Electric Code as of July 1st, 2014.

Gas water heater replacements require a Mechanical Permit.
Electric water heater replacements require a Plumbing Permit.

Please note that the Washington State Building Code Council did not adopt any fuel gas piping, combustion air or venting of equipment under the 2012 Uniform Plumbing Code.

All fuel gas piping installations except LPG are covered by the 2012 International Fuel Gas Code and the 2012 International Mechanical Code.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas installations are covered by NFPA 58 & 59A ed of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code

Storage, handling, transportation, and use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas fire permits will be required. See 2012 International Fire Code Chapter 38.


2012 Energy Code Forms

NEEC provides technical assistance, tools and educational resources for the Commercial Provisions of the WSEC. Commercial Provisions apply to all commercial occupancies, Group R-2 and R-3 occupancies greater than 3 stories above grade, and Group R-1 of all building heights.
