Program Dates: June 15 – December 15, 2017
Budget: Up to $32,500, all-inclusive of artist and production fees
Paid by host: Artist fees; Project materials budget; Studio and presentation space; Marketing material; Staff support
Paid by artist: Artists will cover their own travel expenses to and from Redmond; Artists can increase the scale of projects through outside funding sources pursued by the artist; Liability insurance is required (See "How to Apply" section of the application)
Call: The City of Redmond Parks and Recreation Department is inviting artists to submit a proposal to become an Artist-in-Residence. An Artist-in-Residence is needed to stimulate cultural vibrancy in the parks of Downtown Redmond, including the Redmond Central Connector, through original artworks and by challenging residents to become active participants in civic life and cultural advocacy. We are interested in collaborative artists working in all mediums, with an emphasis on the participatory arts, especially those who challenge the boundaries of architecture, sculpture, performance, sound, digital, film, photography, music, painting, and drawing. The successful artist will create a residency plan under a contract that speaks to the City of Redmond context, described below, by May 1, 2017. The artist will begin production duties on June 15, 2017 for an anticipated production 6-month period.

Program Dates: June 1, 2017 – October 1, 2017 (flexible)
Project Budget: Up to $20,000 all-inclusive of:
Up to $5,000 for producer/performance curator fee
Up to $12,000 for performance fees
Up to $3,000 for promotional activities (Optional Task 1)
Call: The City of Redmond is inviting producers of contemporary performance, presentation and community engagement to submit their application to produce the 2017 Season of the Redmond Moving Art Center. This facility is a mobile stage that brings contemporary art and ideas into the heart of Redmond. It invites artists, businesses, city and community into shared creative endeavor, exploring in partnership the possibilities of the live arts and living artists as agents of social change and urban transformation. A producer is needed to select and pay performers and integrate the promotion of the Center and participatory opportunities aimed at residents and Redmond’s cultural community into a programmatic and site-specific whole. We are particularly interested in producers/curators with expertise in music, dance, theater, educational presentations, and/or other live acts and community engagement that would draw attention and excitement of people to the streets of Redmond’s Downtown Cultural Corridor and along the Redmond Central Connector trail.
