Arts Season Grants

The Redmond Arts Season is a capacity-building grant program that supports quality arts and cultural programs that are accessible to Redmond residents and visitors throughout the year.

The goal of the Arts Season Grant programs is to:
1) Produce a thriving arts scene in Redmond by supporting local artists and arts and cultural organizations;
2) Cultivate a creative environment through an encouraging environment for artists and participants at all levels;
3) Provide inclusivity by creating connections and partnerships across Redmond’s diverse community.

Application Deadline: December 14, 2018, 5pm 

Artists and arts organizations are cordially invited to submit applications for the 2019 Redmond Arts Season Grants.  Any group or individual offering cultural arts programming in Redmond, WA, between March 1, 2019 and December 15, 2019 are eligible to apply.

Project support grants up to $5,000.  The typical grant award is between $1,500 and $3,000 total.  Coordinated communications, marketing, and outreach activities are provided by the City of Redmond staff member.

SecondStory Repertory "April Fools: Festival of Improv"

A celebration of all things improvised. This three weekend improv-aganza features Split Second Improv facing off against some of the hottest Improv troops in the Puget Sound area. With daytime classes and evening performances for both adults and family audiences, this event will have everyone laughing in the aisles and discovering their inner fool!

Tasveer, "South Asian Film Festival Centerpiece Gala"

The 12th Tasveer South Asian Film Festival is a 10-day festival of thought-provoking films, panels & workshops, focusing on *South Asia. It is the largest South Asian festival in the US, with showcasing about 50 films, 25 filmmakers, in 5 cities, entertaining over 3000 audience members. We are planning an exciting Centerpiece Film & Celebration event in Redmond. *South Asia covers Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Redmond Association of Spoken Word (RASP) "Poets in the Park"

Poets in the Park is a day-long, free festival celebrating local and regional poets and poetry through readings, workshops, vendors, installations, picnic-related activities, and a book fair. For 2017, our special focus is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Redmond Association of Spokenword.

Venue for Artists in the Local Area (VALA) "Sculptures in Motion: Exploring Kinetic Art"

This exhibition will explore elements of motion by featuring dynamic kinetic art sculptures that demonstrate movement through one or a combination of technologies including mechanical design, human interaction, wind or solar power.

Malikah Festival "Malikah Festival and Fashion Show"

The second Malikah Festival will feature a semi-professional, modest fashion show of designers from the U.S., Middle East and Southeast Asia. This free, family-friendly event will also include cultural discussions led by New Americans and local vendors selling fashion-related accessories.
