Arriba Stature
Artist's Statement
“I have just finished my first one hundred yards of canvas, if I paint 1,760 yards I will have painted a mile. After my first fifty yards of canvas, I realized that I was trying to make acrylics act like oils. With the help of a new mentor, I learned how to use oils and now I have what for me is the perfect marriage..." Doughlas Remy
Artist's Statement
“Art always has something magical about it. The artist reaches into his or her imagination to bring something new into being, and hopes that the new creation will bestow pleasure and insight on all who view it. Doughlas Remy's works are more explicitly alchemical, however. Although no serious attempt is ever made to change dross into gold, the purpose of Remy's assemblages, like that of the alchemist, is to create value out of what is (perceived as) worthless and to transform multiplicity into unity...." February - March 2004

Karen Graber
Artist's Statement
“I am an abstract artist working in found objects and mixed media. I use unusual tools, acrylic and mixed media on canvas to produce art that has order, unpredictability, and an inherent integrity to the mundane objects that transcend their origins. Color and texture become vehicles for infusing my work with emotion and power, becoming sculptural elements at work in the piece..." Patricia Rogers
Artist's Statement
“I made my first photographic print when I was about 7 years old. I have photographed ever since and have never lost the fascination of capturing an object or scene and putting it on paper where I could look at it anytime. Digital technology, especially the wonderful photo editing tool, Photoshop, have only increased the possibility for magic in making images..." January 2004

D. Ted Harris
Artist's Statement
“When most people think of photography, they think of a picture ‘of’ something: a tree, a lake, a sunset, etc. This project is my attempt to take the “of” out of photography. My work is meant to stand on its own, without any reference to our physical world. I have photographed abstract shapes, and then obscured them even further by using non-photographic tools to manipulate the images. It is my hope that the resulting images transcend reality and strike an emotional chord with the viewer, in the same way they transcend photography and become pure art.”

Tom Degroot
Artist's Statement
“I'm fascinated by the patterns and designs that happen when human structures are exposed to the elements. We build perfectly finished streets, sidewalks, walls, and buildings. While we're using them, nature applies cold, heat, wind, and rain. Then we repair, and use some more, and all the while nature erodes our best efforts to maintain that fine finish..."
