Large Double Swirl imageOld Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center Art

The newest addition to the City of Redmond's Public Art collection is the kinetic artwork Large Double Swirl with Glass by Andrew Carson. It is at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center, 16600 NE 80 St, at the West Parking Lot entrance. The colorful new work rotates in the wind. Funded by Redmond tax dollars through the per capita art allocation, the piece was recommended for purchase by the Redmond Arts Commission and approved for funding by the Redmond City Council. First Pitch imageGrass Lawn Park Art

The First Pitch is a larger than life stainless steel sculpture that celebrates female athletes. This sculpture by Hai Ying Wu is located at the east pedestrian entrance at Grass Lawn Park, 7031 148 Ave NE. It was funded by the Grass Lawn Park Phase II Remodel Percent for Art Project. 

 

Firefighters Bench ImageFirefighter's Bench

Redmond's newest artwork the Firefighter's Bench by Michele Van Slyke was donated by the Rotary Club of Redmond. It is located on the Firefighter’s Plaza at Fire Station 11 on the corner of NE 85 and 161 Ave NE.
 

 

Art Project at Perrigo ImageArtwork at Perrigo Community Park
The art project by artists Elizabeth Conner and Glenn Herlihy at Perrigo Community Park Art, 9011 196th Ave NE titled Green Field and Aviary was completed in August, 2004. Elizabeth Conner of Vashon Island has been the Art Project Manager and design team artist since 2002 and worked with park architect Bruce Dees to develop the concept for the art designed into the park. In fall 2003, Glenn Herlihy was brought on board to create the cast concrete objects for the columns and that are attached to the fencing. He has created some wonderful artifacts that relate to the flora, fauna and activities that take place at the park. Sports objects were placed in the columns at the park entry in August. Thanks to these two wonderful artists for creating such a whimsical and colorful art project for Redmond’s newest community park. Interpretive signage is being developed. A Helping Hand imageFirefighter's Plaza and Art
April 1 and October 9, 2004

Oregon artist, Judy Phipps, created a life-size bronze firefighter sculpture titled 'A Helping Hand' was dedicated in April, 2004. The plaza, designed and built by the Redmond Parks & Recreation Department, features two of Redmond's public artworks. An art bench by Bainbridge artist, Michele Van Slyke, was funded by a donation from the Rotary Club of Redmond. The bench features water related fire fighting themes, it was dedicated in October. Visit the plaza located on the corner of NE 85 St and 161 Ave NE.
