This year for Derby Days, bring the kids and enjoy breakfast with
the Firefighters! The Redmond Fire Department will be hosting a
free pancake breakfast for the community (donations will be
accepted).
Enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Derby Days, Saturday, July 11
from 9am to 1pm at Redmond Fire Station 11, 8450 161st Avenue NE.
Breakfast will be served by the Firefighters and consist of
pancakes, sausage, eggs, orange juice and coffee.
"This breakfast is a great way for residents to get to know their
local firefighters and help out those in need," notes firefighter
Paul Atkinson, one of the organizers of this year's event.
"The kid's always have a great time exploring the fire trucks and
having a picture taken in a real firefighter's helmet and jacket."
The breakfast is sponsored by the Redmond Firefighters Benevolent
Fund and all proceeds go towards benefiting the people of the local
community, especially those facing personal tragedy.
Aside from breakfast in the fire station, children tour the
department's various fire apparatus, try their hand at squirting
water on a mock fire and pose for photos in authentic fire gear.
