City Launches Quarterly Online Magazine

The City of Redmond announces the launch of its newest communication tool, Efocus, found at www.efocusonredmond.com. This is a quarterly online news magazine developed as a companion piece to a smaller, more cost-effective quarterly citizen newsletter.

The new www.efocusonredmond.com is the culmination of a plan to integrate the City's communication programs (print, video and graphics) with the capabilities of the Internet.  Efocus allows users to read, watch and interact with news, information and programs unique to Redmond.

The summer issue takes residents on a tour of many of its parks, art installations and events.  Residents need not go far to take a "daycation" with the whole family.  The video for the feature article highlights all the new fun improvements available at Grass Lawn Park.  In addition, the City's own Plant Lady, arborist Teresa Kluver, gives video tips on how to use ornamental grasses in the landscape, while Mike Paul, Construction Manager, gives a behind the scenes look at two current public works projects.

"Integrating web and video technology in an informative electronic magazine was an idea that took hold during the budget deliberations of 2008," states Patrick Hirsch, Video Communications Manager.  "This is one more vehicle to keep Redmond residents and businesses informed. Over time, we will add additional features such as citizen surveys and methods for direct feedback."

Those interested in being notified when a new issue is launched, should send this blank email with Efocus in the subject line. Send comments and suggestions to Marta Gronlund, Communications Program Manager at the above email or 425-556-2427.
