Meeting to Design Dirt Jumps on Education Hill

On May 5th approximately 70 community members attended a meeting at the dirt jumps near Hartman Park, expressing a strong interest in preserving the dirt jumps and a preference for preserving the current location.  The meeting concluded with a group agreeing to volunteer to maintain the jumps by working in cooperation with the City's Parks and Recreation department.

The City and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will host a second community meeting to consider the types of bike jump facilities the community would like. This meeting will be held on June 3, from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Art and Science Room at Horace Mann Elementary School, 17001 NE 104th Street, Redmond.

The goals established for the design of the dirt jumps are to create safer jumps for everyone including jump lines for beginners and more advanced riders and to address environmental stewardship for the site.  This information is necessary to determine the ultimate location of such facilities, the planning process and the cost of implementation and maintenance.

While this design process is underway, users of the current dirt jump site are reminded to follow the posted rules.
