A public meeting for the Greater Southeast Redmond Area
Transportation Study will be held on Wednesday, May 20 from 5 to
7:30pm at Redmond City Hall Council Chambers, 15670 NE 85 Street.
Anyone interested is invited to come and hear more about the study
and provide feedback to assist City staff and the study consultants
establish a preferred transportation plan for Southeast Redmond.
Regional and commercial traffic place a high demand on the
transportation system in Southeast Redmond. Future growth will
only increase the demand on already congested roads. The
Greater Southeast Redmond Area Transportation Study focuses on three
components - freight mobility and the needs of businesses to move
goods and services; transportation system improvements to relieve
congestion and address mobility needs; and a preliminary design for
NE 76 Street from Redmond Way to 192 Avenue NE, the main east/west
corridor through this area.
Leading up to the public meeting, City staff laid the groundwork for
the study through a Citywide freight mobility survey conducted with
area business owners in January and a planning charrette with key
stakeholders in February. In addition to the other items on
the evening's agenda, those who attend the meeting on May 20 will
hear about the outcome of those efforts.
