On May 12th, the City of Redmond will kick-off a seven-session
Citizen Academy. The Academy is an excellent opportunity for
Redmond residents to learn about the City's government operations,
from utility planning to emergency preparedness to transportation.
All sessions are at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th Street, from
6:30 to 8:30pm. The schedule of topics is below, and is
subject to change.
5/12: Comprehensive Planning, Growth Management,
and Development Review
5/26: Natural Resources, Shorelines, and
Environmentally Critical Areas
6/9: Utilities and Finance
6/23: Transportation
6/30: Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness
7/14: Parks and Recreation
7/28: Housing and Human Services
The City is also recruiting for interested citizens to serve on the
Bear Creek neighborhood Citizen Advisory Committee. Any
prospective members are asked to attend as many sessions of the
Citizen Academy as possible. For more information on the
