On Thursday, April 30, beginning at 7 pm at Albert Einstein
Elementary School Library, 18025 NE 116th Street, the City of
Redmond will hold the second community meeting for a new
neighborhood park in the North East Redmond neighborhood.
At the first meeting on March 11, a site investigation was presented
that revealed two wetlands on the site. Another presentation
on the importance of children interacting with nature gave residents
ideas about how a park could be developed in non-traditional ways.
Residents also provided ideas for activities they would like to see
in the park.
These ideas have been translated into drawings and photos that will
be displayed and discussed at this upcoming meeting. Residents
will be asked to select preferred features for the park. All
the information gathered will be incorporated into a new park Master
Plan, which purpose is to identify the major elements to be included
in the park design.
The location for the new five acre park is the north side of NE
122nd Street, between NE 176th and NE 177th Avenues. This site
was purchased in 2000 to provide needed park space in a rapidly
growing neighborhood.

Planner, 425-556-2328 or
