The Spring Garden Fair is Saturday, April 25 from 9am to 3:30pm at
Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th Street. This year's event
promises to bring gardeners much more information and many new
techniques to help them develop a beautiful, waterwise and
environmentally-friendly landscape.
Speakers include authors Jennifer Carlson, David McDonald, Marianne
Binetti, Mike Brioli and Ciscoe Morris. Ciscoe Morris will
also broadcast his radio show on 97.3 FM from the Garden Fair with
hostess Meeghan Black from KING 5 TV. Redmond Mayor John
Marchione will stop by for an interview with Ciscoe. Other
speakers will share natural yard care tips, irrigation tricks and
advice on preparing healthy soil.
The Fair is free and there are activities for children and adults.
One activity for kids is making terrariums showing the water cycle
in action. Visitors can also visit a variety of information
booths and discuss gardens with master gardeners and composters.
Native and drought tolerant plants will be for sale along with rain
barrels and compost bins.
The Spring Garden Fair is sponsored by the Cities of Redmond,
Woodinville and Bothell, Cascade Water Alliance, Northshore Utility
District, Saving Water Partnership and Woodinville Water District,
with other agencies as participants. For details, visit
