Bring your neighbors and celebrate the importance of Redmond's
trees and forest ecosystems by joining the City of Redmond Parks and
Recreation Department at Arbor Day 2009, Wednesday, April 8 at
Farrel-McWhirter Park, 19545 Redmond Road from 4 to 6pm.
"Taking care of our community forests demonstrates the City's
ongoing commitment to the preservation, protection and enrichment of
our environment," notes Teresa Kluver, Park Operations Supervisor.
"Preserving our trees and forests is vital to maintaining our
quality of life and working to build a better future. I hope
residents will want to take part in this effort."
Participants will help plant young trees in the forested areas of
the park and also participate in ceremonial tree plantings. Arbor
Day patches and prizes will be available. Come prepared for
the weather and bring work gloves. Planting tools will be
provided.
