Picasso's Aubade Recreated in Chalk

WHO:      Redmond Arts Commission presents local artist Brian Major.  Major recently completed a chalk mural of  "American Gothic" at the Bellevue Arts Fair and has also done special art projects for Bellevue Square, the Seattle Art Museum and the Seattle Public Library.
 
WHAT:     Recreating Picasso's "Aubade" (circa 1942) in chalk

WHY:       The Redmond Arts Commission strives to make art a natural component of everyday life in Redmond.  Friday, August 22 will be a celebration of the individual artist in Redmond.  In addition to the Brian Major, the free Redmond Arts Jam will take place beginning at 7pm with singers, instrumentalists and spoken word artists from the community taking the stage with a group of professional musicians as back-up.  Sign-up for artists who want to participate in the Arts Jam begins at 6:00 pm.
