Assistance is in cooperation with United Way of King
County City of Redmond and United Way of King
County are teaming up to offer residents a simple, cost-free
way to prepare and electronically file taxes from 9 am to
2:30 pm on Saturday, March 22 at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse
Community Center, 16600 NE 80th Street. An appointment is
required.
Residents can avoid paying high and unnecessary fees from
commercial preparers, find out if they are eligible for the Economic
Stimulus Rebate and get help applying for an individual taxpayer
identification number. Free preparation and electronic filing will
be conducted by IRS certified volunteers. There are no financial
eligibility requirements, but assistance is only available for basic
tax returns not involving a business.
Those participating are asked to bring end of year statements
from all sources of income (W2’s, 1099’s, etc.); a social security
card number or individual taxpayer identification number for each
person to be claimed on the return; a copy of last year’s return if
available; birthdates for those being claimed on the return and a
childcare provider name, address and tax ID number. For a faster
refund, bring a bank account number so that your refund can be
directly deposited.
To call for an appointment, contact Colleen Kelly at 425-556-2423.
