Red-Wood Road residents and other interested community members are
invited to attend a public meeting on Thursday, November 15 from
5:30 to 7:30pm at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85 Street. This is the
second public meeting for the Redmond-Woodinville Road Corridor
Study. This meeting’s focus is to discuss how best to balance the
corridor’s increasing traffic flow with the desire to preserve the
natural habitat and character of the corridor.
Mayor Rosemarie Ives will briefly address the audience at 6pm,
followed by a project presentation by City staff.
“The outcome of this study will determine future cross-section
and right-of-way needs for Red-Wood Road and for 154 Place NE, as
well as improvements to intersections, pedestrian and bicycle
facilities and trails,” says Don Cairns, Redmond Transportation
Services Manager.
During the first meeting held on July 26, the discussion focused
on the green character of the corridor. Interests of the attendees
included improving pedestrian, bicycle and transit facilities;
protecting valley views and heritage characteristics of Theno’s
Dairy; creating meandering sidewalks and improving signage for
pedestrian crossings.
