Are you a Redmond resident with a strong interest in the city’s
parks, recreation, trails and open spaces? The City has an opening
on the Parks and Trails Commission and invites interested residents
to apply.
Parks and Trails Commission members advise and make
recommendations to the Mayor and City Council concerning
acquisition, amenities, improvements, resources and uses of parks,
trails and recreation facilities, as well as improvements to and
resources for recreational programming. They meet on the first
Thursday evening of the month at City Hall.
“Redmond residents consistently rate parks and recreation as a
high priority,” says Redmond Mayor Rosemarie Ives. “Parks and Trails
Commission members play an important role in determining where we
acquire more open space, how facilities are developed and maintained
and the emphasis that we place on our recreation programs.”
Applicants must live within the Redmond city limits and complete
a community service application. For more information or to request
an application, call the Mayor's office at 425-556-2101 or
download an application from the City’s website. Applications
must be received by 5 pm on Monday, November 19.
