On Thursday, September 20, the City of Redmond will host a community
open house from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at City Hall for the West Lake
Sammamish Parkway Improvement Project. Area residents are invited to
join staff to review preliminary conceptual designs for West Lake
Sammamish Parkway between Bel-Red Road and NE 51 Street.
West Lake Sammamish Parkway is identified in the City’s
Comprehensive Plan and in the Transportation Master Plan as a key
arterial link between Redmond and Bellevue. The City is now taking
an all-inclusive look at the corridor to determine the future
configuration of the roadway and intersections.
According to Ron Grant, Public Works Construction Division
Manager, “Improvements currently under consideration include
dedicated space for pedestrians and bicyclists, landscaping,
additional travel lanes, a center turn lane, and improvements at
intersections such as traffic signals and roundabouts. In addition,
roadway lighting, drainage, undergrounding of existing overhead
utilities, and retaining walls will be examined.”
For more information about the open house, or the
West Lake
Sammamish Parkway Improvement Project, contact Mike Paul, Project
Manager, at
