While the Puget Sound region is being pounded with rain, so far,
Redmond’s roads have not suffered any major flooding. As of 4pm, the
Public Works Maintenance and Operations Center has placed cautionary
signs on NE 95th Street at Willows Road due to standing water but
traffic is making it through the intersection slowly.
“While our stormwater system is definitely being taxed, Redmond
has been spared some of the disruptive flooding of surrounding
cities,” states Bill Campbell, Public Works Director. “However, we
continue to keep a close eye on the situation and will notify the
public should that change.”
Redmond residents or business owners who need to report flooding
in their area should call the City at 425-556-2701 to report it
during regular business hours of Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. After
hours, the Police should be notified at 425-556-2500. As always,
call 911 immediately if the situation is dangerous.
