Your health is your most important asset. Redmond offers a choice of two medical insurance plans: Red-Med and Group Health.
Life & Disability Insurance
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
The City pays the premiums for group term life, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance through Standard Insurance.
Additional term life insurance may be purchased through a payroll deduction from Cigna.
Voluntary Life Insurance
The City offers participation in a voluntary group term life insurance plan. Employees selecting optional group term life insurance pay the premiums for it.
Long Term Disability Insurance
The City pays the premiums for group long term disability (LTD) insurance through Standard Insurance.
Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA)
A Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA) enables you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for your out-of-pocket health and day care costs. There are two components to your plan:
Health Care FSA
reimburses out-of pocket health care expenses for you and your dependents.
Day Care FSA
reimburses day care expenses for your dependent child or elder care expenses.
The Municipal Employees' Benefit Trust replaces coverage by Social Security including Long Term Disability Insurance to disabled workers and Survivors' Income Insurance to the dependents of a deceased worker. An employee who leaves can take his/her contributions, City contributions equal to 20% for each completed year of service, and interest.
Contributions to the Plan: Employees contribute and amount equal to Social Security Tax, 7.65% (1.45% to Medicare & 6.20% to Trust Fund). The City contributes a sum equal to what would have been paid to each employee under Social Security. Generally, the match has been $0.80 for each $1.00 contributed by the employee. However, if Plan expenses or insurance premiums are unexpectedly high, the amount of the match could be less.
Department of Retirement Systems
The Washinton State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) serves to administer over all public retirement systems including teachers, judges, public employees, law enforcement officers and fire fighters. City of Redmond employees may belong to one of six DRS plans including: PERS 1, PERS 2, PERS 3, PSERS 2, LEOFF 1 or LEOFF 2.
Each plan is a defined benefit plan that provides full pension benefits based on the retirement eligibility age of the member. The PERS 3 plan offers, in addition to a defined benefit, a member funded defined contribution component. MetLife - 457 Deferred Compensation
Participation in the Section 457 Deferred Compensation Plan provides you with a great way to either start or continue saving for retirement.
. Your contributions are automatically deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis. You don't have to pay taxes on your account until you take money out of your Plan, so your saving can potentially benefit from years of tax-free compounding.
. The money you put into your Plan reduces your current taxable income dollar for dollar. As a result, you'll pay less in taxes each pay period.

Eden "My Info" Online Services is a web portal that allows you to access a variety of your payroll and employment-related information, including the ability to view and print your direct deposit paycheck stubs. You will need to create a username and password the first time you access the system. After that, you will be able to access the site anytime, from any computer with internet access (work or home).
