Holiday Waste Collection Schedule

Wondering when to take out your garbage? Waste Management does not service on Christmas or New Year’s Day – both of which fall on a Tuesday this year. If your collection day is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, please take your garbage, recycling, and yard waste to the curb one day later than usual. All service will return to normal beginning the week of January 7.

Holiday Tree Recycling

If you are a residential customer with Waste Management, recycle your holiday tree at no cost! Within the first two weeks of January, placed unflocked trees up to 6’ tall next to your food and yard waste cart (flocked trees must go in the garbage). Outside of After this period, Waste Management will collect your tree at no cost as long as it is cut into 4’ segments and placed fully inside your food and yard waste cart. Extra yard waste fees will apply for anything outside of your cart.

Got extra recycling
this holiday season?

Put it out next to your curbside cart at no charge! Please place in a cardboard box kept out of the rain until your collection day, or else in your own lidded container that you label “recycling.” No plastic bags, bows, ribbons or metallic wrapping paper – these should be reused or placed in the garbage.

The City of Redmond’s Solid Waste and Recycling program promotes waste reduction and recycling throughout the city. We work collaboratively with King County, the State of Washington, and other organizations to provide outreach and education programs to expand recycling, promote composting of organics, reduce waste, and eliminate toxics.
