Status:
Currently in design with construction expected to begin in 2007.

Project Description:
The City of Redmond is proceeding with the design of an improvement at the intersection of East Lake Sammamish Parkway and NE 65 Street.  This project will widen East Lake Sammamish Parkway through the intersection with NE 65 Street to tie into the State improvements made to East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SR 202.  The City also plans to reconstruct the traffic signal, to place the existing overhead utility lines underground, and provide new sidewalks and landscaping at this intersection.

Union Hill Road Widening Phase II
from Avondale Road to 178 Place NE

Status:
Construction to begin in 2007.

Project Description: The area surrounding Union Hill Road and the Avondale Road intersection has developed rapidly and continues to grown.  The transformation of land use from agricultural and light industrial to retail and business park use has generated additional traffic.  Union Hill Road also serves as a key route to the Novelty Hill Urban Planned Developments to the east.

Phase I of the construction on Union Hill Road included improvements between 178 Place NE to 188 Avenue NE, which was complete in the summer of 2005.  Phase II construction will increase capacity, level of service, and safety for all transportation modes on Union Hill Road between Avondale Road and 178 Place NE, and for the intersection of Union Hill Road and Avondale.

185 Avenue NE Extension to Union Hill Road

Status:
Preliminary design work for the project will start in the spring of 2007.

Project Description: The existing 185 Avenue NE terminates in a dead end.  This project will extend 185 Avenue NE from its current terminus and join Union Hill Road.  The intersection at Union Hill Road will be signalized.  This will complete an important emergency vehicle and mobility link in the area's roadway grid system.
