Project Cost:
$40 million (estimated construction cost)

Funding Source:  Microsoft and City of Redmond Business Tax Revenue

Business tax revenue contribution:  $4,100,000

Project Manager: Dennis Apland (dapland@redmond.gov)

Status: The conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase started in August 2006 is complete and final engineering is underway.  Construction is anticipated to start in spring/summer of 2008.

Project Description: In February 2006, Microsoft unveiled an accelerated plan for redevelopment of its Redmond campus.  To facilitate greater mobility in the Overlake area and accommodate access to rapidly developing areas on both sides of SR 520, Microsoft and the City of Redmond have partnered to construct a bridge across SR 520 connecting NE 31 to NE 36 Street.  The overpass will include a pedestrian/bicycle lane.  Connecting the east with the west sides of SR 520 with an additional roadway is in the City of Redmond's overall Comprehensive Plan.
