Future Commissioners

City of Redmond residents with an interest in the arts are invited to apply for an opening on the City's Arts Commission.

The nine-member Arts Commission works to achieve excellence in arts programming for the people of Redmond; nurture and support artists, arts organizations and arts education; and promote active participation and attendance of arts events.  The Commission also makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding arts-related acquisitions, programs, projects, and community events.  Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, and commissioners are appointed to three-year terms.

"The Redmond Arts Commission is instrumental in creating exciting arts programming for the people of Redmond," says Mayor Rosemarie Ives. "The City Council and I rely on their recommendations and their efforts to promote the arts in this community."

Interested residents should pick up a community service application in the Mayor's office on the fourth floor of Redmond City Hall, or download a copy.  Applicants should mail the completed form, along with a summary of background and volunteer experience to the Office of the Mayor, City of Redmond, P.O. Box 97010, Redmond, WA 98073-9710. The application deadline is ongoing or promoted through the local newspapers. Applications are kept on file for one year for consideration. For more information, call 425-556-2101.
