Arts Ed Manuals

The Arts Education Committee completed a three year project that provided two visual art lesson manuals for Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd through 6th grades. This award winning program was honored in 2002 with the National Recreation and Park Association’s Dorothy Mullen Arts and Humanities Award and in 2003 the Arts Commission received a Community leadership Award for the Puget Sound region from the Washington State Association of School Administrators for their role in creating this sequential, Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALR’s) based art lessons with assessment tools and supported by literary arts. These are lesson manuals are available through ArtsEd Washington.
