Seraphina Gordon Orzel
Artist’s Statement

"My current body of work focuses on the figure, with an emphasis on gesture and light. Hands are important and function symbolically, showing depth of feeling. Through each piece, I seek to tell a universal story and invite the viewer to open themselves to a new dimension of experience..." Daniel Kencke
Artist’s Statement

"In the winter of 2003 I felt myself to be in a rut, both personally and artistically. I decided to give myself an assignment, staying close to home and traveling light..." To view/print Daniel Kencke's complete artist statement, select this pdf document link.

Corrina Miller
Artist’s Statement

"As a photographer, I enjoy capturing what I see - be it in the beauty of details or the vastness of open spaces..." To view/print Corrina Miller's complete artist statement, select this pdf document link.

John Woodard
Artist’s Statement
"My objective in art is to make paintings which are seriously beautiful. I believe a painting should be an object of meditation; a place one can return to and discover new things one has missed in the first viewing of the piece. A painting should lure the viewer into its world, and give the viewer a place for his mind to play..." To view/print John Woodard's complete artist statement, select this pdf document link.

May - July 2006

Carol Chellino
Artist’s Statement
"The theme of my current work is derived from the landscape and the many relations I have in my life. Most often, the landscapes express the feeling of traveling through with abstractions of shapes and colors..." Arriba Stature
Artist’s Statement
"I have always found that there are a great many experiences that I have no words for. My art fills the function neatly as my record keeper and interpreter of those experiences."

March - May 2006

Susie Wind
Artist’s Statement
"I make these paintings as an homage to the people I will never meet, to the knowledge or insight that I will never possess. In my own clumsy and ignorant way, these images are witness to the voices that are long since quiet in my world..." To view/print Susie Wind's complete artist statement, select this pdf document link.

Deon Matzen
Artist’s Statement
"As a hearing-impaired painter, color is the most important aspect of my work. Though I tend to be a representational painter, I will often alter the colors within a scene to please myself, maybe trying to compensate for the grey, dreary environment in which I live..." January - March 2006

Betty Jo Fitzgerald
Artist’s Statement
"These paintings are records of real and imagined landscapes that take the viewer on a “joy ride” where they can rediscover their childhood memories. As children, our trees weren’t always green, nor our skies always blue. I take great pleasure in manipulating the scenery by laying fences flat and turning trees upside down, while using arbitrary color and pattern to create depth in a flat scene..." Gregory Fields
Artist’s Statement
"I sculpt mostly in fired ceramics. The sculptures are either stained, glazed or painted with acrylics and/or watercolors. My pieces are mostly human form related--busts, torsos, figures--and are sculpted either in the round or in relief..."
