Twelfth Night is a comedy about love, placed in a festive atmosphere in which three couples are happily brought together. It opens with Orsino, the Duke of Illyria, expressing his deep love for the Countess Olivia. Meanwhile, the shipwrecked Viola disguises herself as a man and seeks to enter the Duke's service. The Duke then employs Viola, who takes the name of Cesario, to woo Olivia for him. Ironically, Cesario falls in love with the Duke, and Olivia falls in love with Cesario, who is really Viola disguised. Written around 1601 by William Shakespeare and named after the Twelfth Night holiday of the Christmas season, this play was first published in the First Folio in 1623.

Wooden O Theatre: Romeo & Juliet
Friday, August 1
TIME: 7:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Redmond City Hall Campus, 15670 NE 85 Street
INFORMATION: 425-556-2316
Romeo and Juliet, the "star-crossed lovers" from feuding families, challenge the strife-torn culture of violence around them, and seek a way for love to triumph over hatred. With the unrelenting pressures of anger and prejudice around them closing in around them, all they have left to cling to is each other. When friends, family and even faith conspire against their love, their poignant demise becomes a clarion call for peace and reconciliation. Artistic Director George Mount will take the themes of family violence to their ultimate extremity, and reshape the feuding 15th century city Verona as a war torn country where occupiers and insurgence clash for control. Against this backdrop, Romeo and Juliet emerge as a stark contrast of love and compassion in a culture ravaged by conflict.

Universal Soul, spoken word rap
Rock School Showcase, rock
Shotty, a rock-and-roll five piece band from Washington State. Scattered about the Seattle area and the Eastside, this group is steadily carving out a new chapter in music history, combining clever and often complex songwriting with a passionate and energetic live performance. Like we enjoy telling our friends, Shotty takes a page out of every section of the rock music manual... and then we burn them. Shotty is not necessarily about reviving any dead genres, or shoving any new sort of rock sub-genre full of hype down our fans' throats. Our music focuses rather on exploring creative fervor, enthusiasm, and general love for the entertainment business.

So have a listen and don't let your heart flutter too much.

Brian Major, painter and muralist, is an artist whose attention to light, color and the preservation of classical art styles has brought him recognition within the art community. Brian's sensitivity and passion for art transform his brush strokes into masterpieces. His use of light and color reveal a vivid attention to detail that sets an inspiring mood and brings his art to life.

Brian is accomplished in many mediums, which include oils, acrylics, pencils, and chalk. Much of his work incorporates, and has been influenced by, the European Old World Styles, such as his recreations of the masters from the Baroque period. The scope of Brian's work is held in both public displays and private collections - paintings, portraiture, murals, and (n)ever-lasting chalk art. For several years Brian has worked as the featured artist on special projects for the Bellevue Art Museum, and Bellevue Square in Washington State. Because he is driven to share his talents with others, he teaches budding artists on an ongoing basis in his local community.
